Flu shot anyone??? NOT ME!!!

I know it seems to be un-American to refuse the annual flu shot especially being a member of the health care community but let me share why..... I think it's a lot of marketing HYPE to make people think they are really getting something! There may be 300 or so different cold and flu virus' going around out there this year that in my body's weakest moment may pick up one. That is part of being HUMAN!   My body has a built-in weapon system to fight off invading germs and free radicals on a daily basis. I am "exposed" daily to a host of virus's but USUALLY my body is given what it needs to fight off the little bastards!

I am a avid juicer and never miss a daily DARK GREEN juice like barley grass( a super food) or home blend of kale, spinach, swiss chard with some berries or banana with some coconut water. Boom down the hatch and truly MzEatright has NEVER gotten "THE FLU" and never gotten the SHOT!  Once every few years I can partake in a cough or cold but usually I can pin point what I had been up to that got me to a vulnerable state.  If I am HEALTHY those germs just hit me and fall plunk to the ground!

OK back to the flu shot: it may only protect us from the 1-3 (one) bad FLU found on another continent (most likely) and the odds of me getting exposed to that strain on my bad day from eating too much junk at the office potluck is frankly, quite slim. ALSO the ingredients of the flu shot is enough to scare me into next week! Things like formaldehyde, (Aluminum Sulfate metals in other vaccines), mercury in thermisol, etc and others you wouldn't let even your kitty drink!  The biggest farce about it is even though we are exposed to 100's of germs and virus type flu's; they sat around at the lab and guessed what the top 2-3 strains might be and that is only what the flu shot covers!   Its like playing roulette at the casino! What does happen is as I watch all the healthcare staff eagerly line up for their annual dose of formaldehyde and mercury, they weaken their own immune system so they soon get sick with all the other 97 strains of flu they touch!  They just don't get it!  How it happens while they are addicted to sugar, donuts, high fructose corn syrup and eat fake foods with artificial colors and flavor and get this:  THEY don't eat their 5-9 veggies and fruits every day either!  There is definatley a common denominator with those who fall ill.  But if they do the right thing they will recover soon enough!

So there you have it, in addition to this interesting article that says, "oops" it may not help folks over 70 and/or those with a compromised immune system from cancer therapies etc...many are often advised against it.  That is funny, if you are already sickly you better not get it!  WHY?  Because the toxins will make you SICKER!  I wouldn't sip on a formaldehyde bottle or spill some in my green drink would I?

I'll pass! I never have had it and never will. But that's just my spin on the matter! I have never won in playing roulette, the big lucky spin is just like that in catching that one BAD flu! Most likely I will indeed catch the common cold like everyone else who got the flu shot too!

How is your teeth? The whites of your eyes?

Sometimes the quickest assesment of health is the whites of our eyes or the healthy smile and gums! Your eyes red and blood shot all the time? Guess what = TOXINS in your diet and lifestyle. What about your teeth and gums? Red swollen yucky gums and bad breath and blood when your brush your teeth? Yucky plaque on the teeth? Too much sugar number one and lousy diet and lack of nutrients number two! You have time to turn it around. Change things now and eat some fresh raw vegetables and fruit and cut out fast food high fat and sugar diet and you will HEAL yourself!

Momma's, WHAT are you feeding your babies????

Today researchers are linking the future health of our children to what we ate during pregnancy AND how we fed our children the 1st part of their lives before puberty! That puts quite a responsibility on us as parents to feed our children what they need for their body's to be in supreme health and heal itself as needed on a daily basis! How can this be done if we don't feed ourselves what it takes to maintain good health?

God made our body's to heal itself, combat toxins and win! Most of this is on auto pilot so we take our immune system for granted! If we were to survey America's families we would be horrified to realize that our kids are NOT eating their vegetables! They spend hours watching TV or playing video games. Too many kids do NOT get physical activity from sports or playing outside, riding bikes etc. (Maybe it's not safe in your neighborhood) and too many kids have no limit on the number of "soda's" they drink per day. Maybe moms are feeding their kids from the drive-thru chicken nuggets or burgers and french fries are their only vegetable! Drinks are soda's or koo-laid or sugar juices with food coloring. Is your child addicted to sugar yet? Who's fault is that? Do they get cookies and donuts or ice cream and no dark green leafy vegetables or fresh ripened fruit in season? NO wonder our kids are joining the 64% of Americans being overweight or OBESE! No wonder our kids have elevated cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL and low HDL counts! No wonder our kids sugars are becoming "pre-diabetic" ranges like adults who have taught their own children to eat as poor as they do! No wonder even our kids liver enzymes are becoming elevated from mass sugar intake when they don't even drink alcohol yet! No wonder their mouths are full of cavities from too much sugar!
The standard american diet is:
34-42 tsp of sugar daily.
40% + FAT daily.
and 3 X the RDA of salt intake.

That is where disease is born folks. This creates an environment for disease to evolve and grow.
Over time, after years of doing something unhealthy we create a disease that matches our bad habits. Our body after awhile breaks down and we have a metabolic illness that can get a diagnosis. Talk about killing OURSELVES! This is really quite simple how it works...getting sick!

Here are some things to think about as we consume inferior foods that DO NOT nourish but in time cause HARM to our health. Digesting these with no nutrients in return:

.............DANGER............ = poison and toxins and results in overworking your liver (your big detoxifying machine!)

White sugar, white flour, white rice and HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP:  This consumption will in short order wear out your pancreas which leads to the diabetes epidemic (pre-diabetes) obesity, clogs your arteries with high triglycerides and weakens you immune system considerably so you may not be able to fight off the cold and flu or free radicals that cause CANCER!  Too much sugar pollutes your liver and shows up in elevated ALT enzymes and then, fatty liver disease and then Liver Cancer?  You pick what your sweet tooth will do FOR you! It's up to US to sabatoge an immune system that God designed to work on auto pilot!

Artificial Food colors, dyes are toxic and do NO GOOD for your body! ie: Fake fruit punch and Koolaids etc.

Over consumption of hormone/steroid poisoned MEAT and Dairy leads to our high FAT intake, lack of fiber overworks the heart, digestive system and is a strong CANCER link. Fried foods are also linked to cancer, clogged arteries and gallstones!  Obesity leads  our FAT to over produce estrogen which creates the proper climate for CANCER to have it's way in the body!

Junk food, processed food and frozen dinners are all over salted, too high in fat and constipating and void of the nutrients needed to maintain HEALTH! These foods are stored away as toxins in our FAT body! Another avenue to obesity and CLOGGING the arteries = HEART ATTACK!

Smoking or tobacco use is responsible for 1/3 of ALL cancers! Our kids suffer from asthma, bronchitis, pnuemonia and other lung problems. Smoker's can look forward to chronic bronchitis, emphysema (COPD) or just sudden death by heart attack if not cancer itself. Milder issues include impotence!

Alcohol use on a daily basis will strip the body of nutrients and weaken the immune system resulting in many forms of cancer, diabetes, liver disease or heart disease over a period of time. Not to mention the severity of drunkenness and what happens getting in a car to drive!

Now our popular starluck coffees and the caffeine abuse overworking our heart and putting us at risk for a cardiac crisis in addition to the 400-600 calories in a big cup full of sugar!
As we add up our special and personal "combination" of daily vices here we will also see the handwriting on the wall at the pending health doom we will have if we don't stop poisoning our liver and pancreas and HEART! You see, we have the power to stay healthy or recover our health after years of a toxic lifestyle. We can change our course and the course of our kids.

Choose life! Choose fresh air, sunshine. Choose water to drink as our body is 70% plus water! We NEED water daily just to flush out our daily toxin consumption! Soda's and coffee and alcohol are very dehydrating! Doing us only harm!

Our body's REQUIRE the nutrients in 5-9 vegetables and fruits per day to stay healthy! We need a dark green leafy vegetable per day for cancer prevention!

What if we can't beat the "cancer" that overcomes us?

Read the very words of Tony Snow as he first learns of his own colon cancer diagnosis:

I sat by my best friend's bedside a few years ago as a wasting cancer took him away. He kept at his table a worn Bible and a 1928 edition of the Book of Common Prayer. A shattering grief disabled his family, many of his old friends, and at least one priest. Here was a humble and very good guy, someone who apologized when he winced with pain because he thought it made his guest uncomfortable. He retained his equanimity and good humor literally until his last conscious moment. "I'm going to try to beat [this cancer]," he told me several months before he died. "But if I don't, I'll see you on the other side."
His gift was to remind everyone around him that even though God doesn't promise us tomorrow, he does promise us eternity—filled with life and love we cannot comprehend—and that one can in the throes of sickness point the rest of us toward timeless truths that will help us weather future storms.
Through such trials, God bids us to choose: Do we believe, or do we not?

Sunshine may just be our disease FIGHTER!

Shocking but true! For 20 years researchers have been concluding the benefits of sunshine is synonymous with the effects of an exercise workout! 20 minutes of sunshine on our skin per day is similar to 20 minutes of exercising. Sunshine boosts our immune system, lowers blood pressure, blood sugar and exposure to skin (that does not use sunscreen) allows vitamin D absorption! Vit D is necessary for healthy bones and our heart health! The effects of sunshine can aid in lowering cholesterol and possibly be a protection FROM cancer! Who is behind all the hoopla of slathering up with chemical sunscreen that clogs the pores every outdoor moment? The manufactures who get their foot in the door everywhere!

Sunshine and fresh air and physical activity IS the best medicine for health! Load up on antioxidant foods for life, drink pure water and consider a little remedy for sunburn protection we use prior to a full day outside: Vitamin B6 50 mg 1-2 times per day 2-3 days prior to exposure and on days of being in the sun for a big day! tip:(The more toxic we are the more we burn!)
Also try oils that suck the nutrients through our skin that have been used for centuries! Cold pressed olive oil (darkest green/used by Cleopatra!) or grapeseed oil as a base with added fragrant 100% essential oils are a fabulous beauty product. Our favorite is adding orange oil, lemon, lavender and geranium into our recipe for beautiful skin. Olive oil can be a mild natural antioxidant sunscreen perhaps due to the vitamin E. This oil is absorbed into the skin and does not leave oily residue. A wonderful after sun exposure treatment for mere pennies.

Simple steps to SAVE your own HEART!

There are things you can do to prevent a bad heart episode! Stop smoking, increase exercise, lose weight if you are obese and choose from the healthy "fats" list ie: olive oil and avacado's for your RDA and make sure you eat plenty of fresh veggies and fruit to meet your fiber RDA etc etc etc!

Find out today the breakdown of what your cholesterol reading is. This can be your biggest warning and heads up! The focus is on your LDL being in a healthy range under 100 to be safe. Your HDL to be well over 50! Now, the main cholesterol number is NOT enough information. We need the whole breakdown. Also, make sure your "sugar" habit/addiction is not clogging your arteries too with high triglycerides! (keep it much less than 150!) Steer clear of diabetes! You can reverse your tendency/risk with a healthy diet and increasing physical activity and avoiding alcohol! Save yourself NOW!
